Sandburg Men Get Votes in NJCAA Division II Preseason Poll

The Carl Sandburg College men’s basketball team was among others receiving votes in Tuesday’s NJCAA Division II preseason poll.
The Chargers were one of 15 schools outside of the top 20 to earn votes. Kirkwood was ranked the preseason No. 1 team in the country, edging out South Suburban by a point. Sandburg, second-ranked South Suburban and No. 9 Milwaukee Area Tech were the only schools from Region IV to garner votes.
Sandburg is coming off a season in which it finished 23-10 — its third straight 20 win-campaign — and appeared in the Region IV tournament championship for the third time in seven years.
The Chargers are scheduled to open their season Feb. 16 at home against Highland.
